Miss anything in this article, and you may easily be at a disadvantage at the next Mega Partnering wealth-networking event you attend. Take the time to read this entire article. You’ll want to know these tips.
Ready? Get comfortable with a cup of your favorite beverage…and let’s dig in…
Power Tip #1 – Dress to Impress at Mega Partnering
Many people wonder how they should dress for a Mega Partnering Event.
“You only get one chance to make a great first impression.” ~ Robert Kiyosaki
When you attend a Mega Partnering event, my recommendation is that you’ll want to dress to impress. I’ve seen “business casual”…and even much more casual than that. My observation is that you’ll be in a room full of successful business people, and it’s in your best interest to impress them at the first encounter.
Men – If you’re already sartorially resplendent, I recommend that you show up like that to Mega Partnering. If you’re not even sure what “sartorially resplendent” means, then let’s try this. I recommend you wear a solid white dress shirt and a nice, dark suit. Get yourself a solid color Donald Trump tie at Macy’s. Trump wears these ties, and he’s a fashionable billionaire…get it? And, be sure to shine up those shoes. I also recommend you save the “Steve Jobs look” for the last day…after you’ve already impressed people with your sense of style.
Women – Wear a nice business suit and shoes to Mega Partnering. My observation is that you typically have way better fashion sense that us men, so just bring yourself to the Mega Partnering event looking the way you’d want to be seen on stage, in a video, or in a photo with a celebrity.
Power Tip #2 – Perception is Reality at Mega Partnering
Have you heard the saying “Fake it ’til you make it”? Wikipedia equates “fake” with deception, forgery, and counterfeit. Faking things are what crooks and lazy people do. And, that’s not you.
If you’re not already fully successful in your business…or are just starting out (and intend to be successful), I recommend you drop the “Fake it ’til you make it” negativity…and replace it with, “act like you belong”…because you do belong. “Act like you belong” with the successful business people at Mega Partnering. Feels better already, doesn’t it?
At the February 2011 Mega Partnering event, Gene Simmons (Founder of KISS and Branding/Marketing/Licensing genius) said that “eye contact is the most powerful business tool you have. Look people in the eye when you meet them”. Shake their hand firmly, but don’t crush it (you’re only impressing yourself when you crush someone’s hand). And, if you have one of those clammy or dead-fish style of handshakes, I recommend practicing your shake between now and the Mega Partnering event to get it right.
Another thing to know is that people with a lot of money generally don’t “need” your “deal”…or for you to buy them lunch just so you can pick their brain.
Want to know how to be a smash success with people you meet? If so, you’ll want to read the Mega Partnering Black Belt Tips (below)…
Power Tip #3 – Be a VIP at Mega Partnering
I recommend that you pay for the VIP Access when registering for Mega Partnering. It’s worth it. And, yes, it’s more expensive than general admission to Mega Partnering. But, not by much. Really.
But, if you have to decide between eating and upgrading to VIP registration, chose to eat. If you’ve got the wherewithal to go VIP at Mega Partnering, you’d be insane not to. Why?
Mega Partnering General Admission attendees miss out on the amazing access that VIP registration provides. With VIP access, you get preferred seating in the Mega Partnering event room (i.e., up front…closer to the speakers on stage). You’ll also get to rub elbows with the event speakers at the Mega Partnering VIP dinner. There is typically one event speaker at each dinner table.
Another perk associated with Mega Partnering VIP registration is that attendees get a bonus day added before the main event starts. On the Mega Partnering bonus day, there is typically some strategic marketing and branding advice shared by Foxx. Although Foxx typically introduces new information and strategy, some of it is recycled from previous presentations. But, it’s still good.
There may also be one or more guest speakers who share how they became successful. And, part of it may involve a “system” they’ve come up with that works for them. Generally, they will stop short of asking you to follow them to the back of the Mega Partnering event room to buy into their system. But, if you’re interested to get more information, you can certainly ask them afterward how you can.
Mega Partnering Bonus Tip – Some savvy speakers may start off a VIP Bonus Day presentation indicating they’re not selling anything. But, they may suggest during their presentation that you give them your business card to get more information…or perhaps a copy of their presentation slides. Bam…you’re on their email marketing list. So, heads-up.
VIP registration at Mega Partnering is worth the extra few bucks. Just do it.
Power Tip #4 – Good Business Etiquette is Your Friend at Mega Partnering
You probably already know this and practice it, but I include it because some people seem to need a friendly reminder. Practice good etiquette.
I’ve seen a person or two seemingly oblivious that they’re monopolizing the conversation at one of the VIP dinner tables with one of the event speakers. For those in need of this reminder, I recommend that you ask your question(s)…and let others at the table get into the conversation.
Oh, and something else. If you are thinking of possibly hitting-up the Mega Partnering speakers for funding your deal, buying your property, or introducing you to their network, you’ll likely only succeed in:
- Causing an awkward situation
- Looking like you may not belong at Mega Partnering
- Possibly being relocated in the Mega Partnering event room or dinner area
Mega Partnering attendees are absolutely encouraged to:
- Talk with each other…start building relationships
- Discuss deals with each other
- Have conversations about funding with each other
- Discuss introductions into each other’s networks
But, hitting-up a speaker up for funding, buying your property, or making introductions into their networks basically falls into the “no fly zone”.
Power Tip #5 – Business Cards Seem to Vanish at Mega Partnering
I recommend that you bring way more business cards to the Mega Partnering event than you think you’ll ever need. Read that again.
In the normal course of a Mega Partnering event, you’ll hand out plenty of business cards. And, you should. There will likely be one or more speed-networking sessions (usually two). You will talk with a lot of people in a short amount of time. And, you will hand out a lot of cards.
What if you run out of cards, and the next person to sit in front of you during speed-networking…or later in the event…is the one who could have dramatically improved your financial future…if s/he had only had your card to be able to get a hold of you?
I get most of my business cards from M13 Graphics. They are lightening fast. They produce very nice cards. And, they are inexpensive.
Here’s one last thought on business cards from my friend and mentor Blair Singer (Co-Founder of Sales Partners and one of Robert Kiyosaki’s top advisers)
“The best way to give your business card to someone is to ask them for theirs first.” ~ Blair Singer
- Bring a lot extra cards…and hand them out.
- Don’t spam the room. I throw away cards that are left at my seat during breaks.
- Order at least 250 business cards, and bring them all to Mega Partnering. Bring a thick stack each day to the event.
Power Tip #6 – Expect Pitching for Future Events at Mega Partnering
First of all, “pitching” is commonplace at many events. You may have already experienced this practice. I’ve heard pitches at Internet Marketing events, real estate investment events, and even at Mega Partnering events.
Speakers desire to tap into each other’s database of followers in order to eventually generate more business. I don’t blame them. But, even so, I no longer have tolerance for excessive pitching.
I was at an early Mega Partnering event that had, in my opinion, so much product pitching going on, it seemed to have become a classic “pitch-fest” on the last afternoon. I had to leave.
To Foxx’s credit, he took the feedback and made significant changes in the area of pitching. Gone, are the mind-numbing, endless stream of pitches by guest speakers. In fact, Foxx now advertises that the Mega Partnering events are not pitch-fests. And, my 2-cents is that you won’t want to miss the last afternoon now.
What’s generally replaced the pitch-fest is…less pitching…and it’s more refined to the Mega Partnering attendee’s needs.
Foxx’s new approach appears to be to team up with certain Mega Partnering presenters (not all of them) in a way that can truly add value to the attendee. It’s a winning combination.
Want an example of a special event that is focused on the attendee? At a recent Mega Partnering event, Foxx teamed up with Bruce Buffer (branding genius and voice of the UFC) to offer a two-on-one session (Foxx/Buffer on you) to dial-in your branding message. Think of it. Two highly successful entrepreneurs who know a thing or two about branding…helping you dial-in your branding message.
And, part of the session includes Bruce making a short video with you incorporating his trademarked slogan…that you’d be able to use in your online marketing. Buffer is known to sue radio stations and other people who used his trademarked slogan without his permission. With this special event, you get his full permission to use it…even on YouTube! This is something that makes you stand-out of the crowd.
Other special events pitched at Mega Partnering events included one with George Ross (Donald Trump’s right-hand man), Jay Abraham (marketing legend), and Wayne Allyn Root (Jimmy the Greek of Las Vegas and former Presidential hopeful). More are in the offing.
Power Tip #7 – How to Handle the Data Dump of Valuable Information at Mega Partnering
If you’re like me, you’ll want to take notes on the valuable information that is shared at Mega Partnering events. For most of the presenters, it’s generally easy to jot down the “pearls of wisdom” typically heard at Mega Partnering events.
However, there will likely be times when that’s not the case. Why? Some Mega Partnering presenters may have a lot to say in the short period of time allotted to them. And, there are those such as Foxx himself who, in my opinion, cram way too many bullets onto each slide. Let me be clear…the Mega Partnering content is good, but the quantity of it on each slide is not.
The farther away you sit from the screen in the Mega Partnering event room, the harder it can be to see the smaller font used that’s necessary to be able to fit so much text on one slide.
If you’re a super-fast writer, you may be able to write down the entire contents of a Mega Partnering slide before you find yourself on the next slide. Besides feeling rushed, this can be frustrating…and result in hand cramping.
Some Mega Partnering audience members ask for a hardcopy of the slides. Foxx and other presenters typically do not hand-out hardcopies of their slides because they know they tend to lose the attention of audience members when they become distracted thumbing through the slides. Also, the speakers usually don’t want their presentation ending up all over the Internet…which happens.
Is there a solution to this madness at a Mega Partnering event ? Yes.
First of all, sit as close to the stage in the Mega Partnering event room as possible. Buy VIP registration to Mega Partnering, and you’ll automatically be sitting in the front half of the room.
Second…and this is the tip that allows for a more relaxing note taking session…discreetly take a picture of each screen with your camera. This will capture the contents of the slide and allow you to jot down notes about examples provided, etc. Compare the two later…at your leisure.
Be sure to turn the flash off. The flash may wipe-out projected image, and it will drain your battery with each flash. And, with a flash on, you won’t be discreet. Plant your elbows on the table you’re sitting at, and steady the camera. Gently squeeze/push the button to snap the shot.
If you think this is a valuable tip, you’ll for sure want to know the camera-related tip that’s in the Mega Partnering Black Belt Tips.
A word of caution. Do not make the mistake of trying to record presentations (audio or video). Doing that will likely be embarrassing for you, as you may get removed from the event. Staff actively looks for this infraction of the rules.
Lastly, you can buy the Mega Partnering event video. Generally, Foxx hires a professional film crew for the event. Let’s face it…a lot of valuable information is shared, but Edgar Dale’s “Cone of Learning” model says that we tend to only remember about 20% of what we hear. Writing notes greatly improves this percentage. But, having the video to watch whenever you want means you won’t miss much. Keep in mind that actual slide content may…or may not…be shown in the final video of the event. That’s were your camera comes in. Foxx usually offers a discounted price for the Mega Partnering event video if you buy it before you leave the event.

The 7 Power Tips are perfect. My Wife and I have attended 2 Mega Partnering events. I have got to tell you if I had this information before the first event I would have look at the event from a more seasoned investor. Your future is all about presentation and how you show your confidence, always remember you are the message. We will be going to our third Mega Event, I will again review these great tips to get my mind right. To all going to this event, especially for the first time, know these tips inside and out.
with all the overhype on the mega partnering website, your tips are really good to know. you rock!
Thank you for your kind words…and thoughtful insights, Chris. It was great seeing you at Mega Partnering 3…and, it was an honor sharing the stage with you when you and your wife received your achievement award. I look forward to seeing you at Mega Partnering 4 in Chicago.
Best, Don
These are great to know – thank you.
Don’s tips are right on the money! I highly recommend attending a Mega-Partnering event if you are looking to quickly build a network of high-quality people interested in real estate opportunities. The networking opportunities are amazing and Don’s guidance is exactly what you need to hit the ground running and make great impressions and connections on and with the other attendees. And by the way, Don is a pretty successful guy himself that you should go out of your way to meet as soon as you can. Thanks for putting these tips together Don!
thank you for getting me ready for megapartnering 4. now i am ready.
Caden
Great to hear from you Brady. Thank you for your kind words.
As a veteran of previous Mega Partnering events, you’re spot-on with your observation about the tendency for Mega Partnering to attract a higher-caliber of event attendee. And, when someone headed for Mega Partnering employs Black Belt Tip #1, they will surely be off to building a great business relationship with attendees they meet.
Best, Don
Just do me a favor and keep writing such trenchant analysis, OK?
Don you are right on with the “act like you belong.” That tip was especially valuable to me at my first Mega Partnering event with George Ross, Donald Trumps right hand man.
Also having enough business cards is so important. I found myself hoarding my remaining cards at an event, and not passing them out to people unless they were in my business niche. Within one week a close friend of mine was moving into a new business market and needed leads in that area that I was turning down. You never know who you are going to meet , be prepared !
Thank you for joining the conversation, Guy.
Act Like You Belong – Due to the unknowns, it’s common for some people to feel a bit out-of-place at an event they’ve not been to before. But, if they’re serious about “why” they are there and “what” they want to accomplish in their business, then it can be straightforward to focus on actually feeling like part of the community of attendees.
By the way, when I saw you at Mega Partnering 2, you looked to me like you belonged there…especially when you were discussing strategies with Robert Kiyosaki’s most trusted adviser, Wayne Palmer.
Business Cards – Although the best tips are revealed in the Black Belt Tips (above), the tip on bringing a lot of business cards is one of the most important Insider Tips. Grabbing a 1-inch stack of business cards as you’re leaving for a Mega Partnering event may seem like over-kill. But, this quantity has proven time-and-time-again to not be enough. A 2-inch stack should do the trick…no more running out of cards…or hoarding the last few.
Best, Don
Thank you for all this good information!

The insights and information you learn at this event is not taught at any universities. Also, you want to implement what you learnt to transform your business as soon as you get back home from this event.
